I wrote for the Big Issue! Oct 18 Written By Jessica Popplewell Yep, that is what you think it is - a real life, paper magazine with an article in it written by meeeee! (I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m very excited). I’m also thrilled that this has happened for me in this magazine, the Big Issue. If you’ve been following my publishing journey for longer than, oh, five minutes, you probably already know that homelessness is something I care about A Lot. The Big Issue is an institution when it comes to providing a voice, a light, and an option for work for people currently experiencing homelessness. Also, the book I wrote hinges on homelessness - the main character, Jenny, is experiencing a common (and often hidden) form of homelessness when the book opens, because she’s sofa-surfing at her auntie’s house. It’s possibly unlikely that you’ll be able to grab a copy of this now, and honestly the article is really an attempt to let people know about the book, but I couldn’t help myself bringing up that there are teenagers right now living in conditions like this - and worse. It’s not a problem that’s going away - if anything, it’s got way worse since I was sixteen. Jessica Popplewell
